About Me

Biography

Jordyn Salow is a sophomore from Fairfax, VA studying Psychology with a minor in LGBTQ Studies at the University of Maryland. She is passionate about photography, studying language and culture, and social justice issues. Though she is mainly skilled in event and portrait photography, Jordyn hopes to expand her practice to other areas as well, such as abstract photography. After graduating with her bachelor's degree, Jordyn plans to further her education in graduate school. She is eager to continue her exploration of her passion for photography, and she aims to advance her photography practice as both a hobby and a part-time occupation throughout her life.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, Jordyn is excited to expand her knowledge and skills in the many disciplines of art available to her through the program. Specifically, she looks forward to exploring music, poetry, theatre, pottery, drawing, and painting. She is eager to complete her Pentathlon assignments, as she feels she will discover something interesting and unique within each. As part of her university experience, she plans to join a variety of clubs, including ones focused on political advocacy, environment sustainability, arts expression, and charity work. Before graduating, Jordyn intends to get the full “university experience,” in which she would like to learn from the unique people around her and the opportunities her college has to offer.
